On Friday, Police and Crime Commissioner Matt Storey and Chief Constable Victoria Fuller sent a letter to the Home Secretary to once again call for more funding for Cleveland Police.
The letter was countersigned by leaders from across the area, including council leaders, housing chiefs, the fire brigade, health bosses and the Tees Valley Mayor.
It states that Cleveland Police need at least 500 extra officers to tackle the area's crime rate, which is the highest in England and Wales.
